A two-page website for a UK rock band of world-class session players, with promo videos for the full band and the acoustic duo, built to sell the live show and make booking easy.
California Screaming is made up of players who have worked with Rod Stewart, Belinda Carlisle, Lily Allen, ELO and more. James Nisbet needed a site that matched that calibre and did one job well: turn a visitor into a booking for a wedding, a festival, a corporate night or a pub gig. It also had to give the acoustic duo, California Waves, a home of its own without muddying the main band’s message.
The band’s name suggested the look straight away: sun-drenched, Sunset Strip rock and roll, with the Whisky a Go Go marquee shot as the hero image. The main page is one confident scroll, with the band, video, press, gallery and live dates in a natural order and a “Book the band” button always in reach. California Waves, the acoustic duo of James Nisbet and Nadie Keating, gets its own page and logo, so the unplugged offer can be booked separately without diluting the full band’s message. The copy is short and punchy, and the “collectively worked with” list does the heavy lifting on credibility without a wall of text.
I also produced two promo videos: one for the full band, which leads the video section above a run of individual performance clips, and one for California Waves, which anchors the acoustic page. For a band like this the footage is the pitch, so a visitor hears them within seconds of landing. Design and video were planned together, so the site and the films look and feel like the same act, and each version of the band gets its own showreel.
A fast, confident site that gives the band a proper shopfront: credits up front, music a click away and a clear route to booking, backed by video made to the same standard. The acoustic page lets California Waves be booked as its own act, so the band can now pitch the full rock show or the stripped-back duo depending on the event.
